Clitheroe Golf Club

Winter Course Protection Policy

Winter Wheels

From Saturday 2nd November all electric trolleys must be fitted with winter wheels.

The Golf Club realise that some pull trolleys do not offer a winter wheel option as they have thinner wheels. Wherever possible the Golf Club would prefer members to either carry or reduce the number of clubs / styles of bag that they use whilst using this type of trolley.

Winter Mats

From Saturday 30th November, winter mats are compulsory on all fairways and closely mown areas. Winter mats may be used in the general area behind the painted lines. The ball may also be moved to the nearest point of relief from the fairway, placed in the general area behind the painted lines and then played as it lies, mats must not be used in a penalty area.

If you land in a bunker, you can rake the bunker and place your ball on the raked sand. If the bunker is frozen mats may be used.

It was agreed that a uniform type of mat is used, the approved mat is the fairway products one as displayed on the board in the men’s and lady’s locker rooms. This consistency will stop alternative / irregular types that could be perceived as giving an unfair advantage.

Driving Range

Once again, the driving range will remain open all through the winter period.

Pro shop

The professional shop has available winter wheels to buy and electric trolleys / pull trolleys available for hire at very competitive reduced rates for members.
