Ecology & Wildlife

Clitheroe Golf Club is host to an abundance of wildlife. From hares and hedgehogs to woodpeckers and wrens, we are dedicated to supporting wildlife and developing positive environmental policies. To top it off, we were finalists in the 2020 National Golf Awards.

Walk on the Wild Side 

In April 2022 a "Walk on the Wild Side" was led by our professional Ecologist James Hutchinson from BIGGA ( British and International Golf Greenkeepers’ Association), 
James led a fascinating Ecology walk on the course, followed by an illustrated talk and Q&A’s in the clubhouse. It was great to hear James report that he considers the work we do at Clitheroe some of the best he has encountered - and he has worked all over the world.   Thank you James!
