Dress Regulations for Men
All players and visitors attending Clitheroe Golf Club are expected to respect the following dress code as agreed by the Council:
- Golf shoes are the only permitted form of footwear for those playing the course unless authorisation on medical grounds has been given by the Secretary
- Shirts must be tucked into trousers or shorts at all times
- Trousers must not be tucked into socks unless they are tailored breeches.
- Shorts must be smart, tailored and knee length and must not be worn in the dining room after 6pm. Cropped trousers are not permitted.
- Socks worn with shorts must be either knee length or predominantly white of calf length or ankle socks.
- Collarless or sleeveless T shirts may not be worn but formal turtle neck shirts are acceptable.
- Denim wear, track suits, football and similar sports shirts, sandals and trainers are not allowed anywhere on the Club premises.
- Golf shoes, waterproof trousers or caps may not be worn anywhere in the clubhouse except in the locker rooms.
Additional regulations applicable to Ladies only
- On the course ladies are expected to wear appropriate, recognised golf wear. This includes sleeveless shirts with a collar, tailored cropped trousers and tailored shorts.
- The wearing of brief shorts, sun tops, denim wear, track suits and trainers is not acceptable on the course or in the clubhouse.
- Golf shorts may not be worn in the dining room after 6.00pm
- Smart sandals are allowed
